Terms of service
Last updated 14 September 2026
These terms cover the Tailr Chrome extension and the trytailr.com website (together, Tailr). Tailr is operated from India. By installing the extension or using the site, you're agreeing to what's below. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
We've tried to keep this in plain language. Where something matters legally, we've said it directly rather than burying it.
Who can use Tailr
You need to be at least 18, or old enough to enter a contract where you live. If you're using Tailr on behalf of a company, you're confirming you're allowed to accept these terms for them.
Your account and your content
You may need an account to use some parts of Tailr. Keep your login details to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at support@trytailr.com if you think someone else has got in.
Your resume and anything else you put into Tailr stays yours. We don't claim ownership of it. You give us permission to process it only so far as we need to in order to run the service for you — generating tailored versions, storing your drafts, and showing them back to you. What we collect and how long we keep it is set out in our privacy policy.
You're responsible for what you upload. Don't put in anything you don't have the right to use, and don't upload someone else's personal information without their say-so.
What Tailr produces
Tailr rewrites and reorders what you give it to better match a job posting. It's a drafting tool, not a guarantee. You are responsible for checking everything before you send it. Read the output, confirm it's accurate, and fix anything that isn't. Don't use Tailr to claim experience, qualifications or results you don't have.
We don't promise you'll get interviews, offers, or any particular outcome from using Tailr.
Fair use
Please don't:
- try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or work around limits in the service;
- resell Tailr, or run it as a service for other people, without written permission from us;
- use it for anything illegal, or to mislead an employer;
- scrape, copy or republish parts of Tailr that aren't your own content.
If you do any of this, we may suspend or close your account. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you first.
Paid plans
Tailr is free during early access. If and when we introduce paid plans, we'll set out the price, the billing period and what's included before you pay anything. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your account — cancelling stops the next renewal rather than ending the period you've already paid for.
Fees are in the currency shown at checkout and may include taxes such as GST. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
Third parties
Tailr runs inside Chrome and works on top of job sites we don't own or control. We're not responsible for those sites, their content, or changes they make that affect how Tailr works on them. Your use of Chrome is governed by Google's own terms.
Changes to the service
Tailr is actively being built, so features will change, get added, and occasionally get removed. We'll give you reasonable notice before making a change that meaningfully reduces what a paid plan gives you.
Ending it
You can stop using Tailr and uninstall the extension whenever you like. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we'll give you notice and, for paid plans, refund the unused part of what you've paid.
Liability
Tailr is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost opportunities, lost job offers, or lost data. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to whatever you paid us in the three months before the claim — or ₹1,000 if you haven't paid us anything.
Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute goes to the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, and both of us agree to that. Before going to court, please write to us — most things are quicker to sort out by email.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the extension or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using Tailr after that means you accept the updated terms.
